Old rectory of the church of St. Mateu de Valldevià, totally renovated and converted into a rural house in 2009. In the restoration process materials like wood and stone have been maintained and used as well as small decorative elements that give a rustic and original atmosphere to the house. Valldevià is a small village of twenty houses in the top a small mountain range, in a typical inland landscape of the Empordà where traditional life has not been affected by coastal tourism. In the highest part of town we find a fifteenth century castle and next to the house a small church with Romanesque remains. The village has privileged views over the sea, mountain Canigó and the surrounding areas. It has a playground with barbecue and outer furniture. The good communication and situation of this house makes a perfect site to enjoy all the attractiveness of this region. Swimming pool (4 x 8 m)

This accommodation is distributed on two floors. The ground floor consists of a single space, with a fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, washing machine, ceramic hob, oven, microwave, fridge and freezer) and a spacious living-dining room. Wood and stone are the main elements of this room that has a TV, radio-cd, a stunning fireplace, a large wooden table and some comfortable sofas. An open scale leads to the second level distributor. From here we have access to the different rooms. Two rooms with twin beds and two double bedrooms. One of these double rooms and one of the twin bedrooms share a bathroom with bath and a balcony with excellent views. Finally we also have access to another bathroom with bath. Central heating.

Annex: underneath the house there is an small accommodation with independent entrance from the front street. It's a one floor accommodation with kitchen/dining room (chimney), a bedroom with double bed and a complete bath with shower plate. Possibility of adding an extra bed.

This place is ideal for those who want to enjoy some days of relax and the pleasures of the marvellous region of Empordà. It is very close to towns with lots of charm like Girona (Jewish Quarter, Cathedral), Figueres (Toy Museum, Dali Museum), l’Escala, Banyoles or La Bisbal de l'Empordà, to a maximum of 35km. The beaches of Empúries and l'Escala (Costa Brava) are just 12 km away or you can also discover the solitary small beaches of Cap de Creus. Also you can visit the Natural Park of Aiguamolls (declared a natural protected area), the greek and roman ruins of Empúries or make excursions by foot or Btt through the different paths that traverse this land of great beauty.
