The small town of Arfa is at an altitude of 700m and lies beside the river Segre. Set in the midst of the region Alt Urgell, a region of varying landscapes where evry valley has its own characteristics. Only 3km outside the region's capital, La Seu d'Urgell and 10km from Andorra there is a wide range of activities on offer. Skiing in Andorra, cross country skiing in Tuixent, Aranser, Lles, and Sant Joan de l'Erm, walks through the Cadí National Park, Olympic water sport instalations in the Parc del Segre (on the outskirts of La Seu d'Urgell) where canoeing, hidrospeed, and boating are on offer; and marked mountain bike routes are just a taste of what can be done. La Seu d'Urgell has plenty of shops, a weekly market and a historic centre making it well worth a visit.
